Boho Bride, Blood Moon, & Succulents | Monday Mix | Virginia Wedding Photographer

You might be wondering what a boho bride, the blood moon, and succulents have in common…well, they were all a part of my weekend! I wanted to try something a little new and different for today (“Monday Mix”), and it’s just something I plan on doing occasionally. It may not be every Monday, but why not give a little recap of my weekend?:)

Friday, we drove down to visit my in-laws because I had a gorgeous and intimate wedding to photograph in Bedford, VA! Despite the non-stop rain, Shannon + Ryan did NOT let the weather rain on their parade! Shannon was a stunning boho bride, complete with a wildflower bouquet and fresh flower crown from Frederic’s Flowers! They definitely knocked it out of the park! As a wedding photographer who sees lots of different floral bouquets, I was just in serious wildflower heaven! SUCH beautiful pieces!

Absolutely adore this shot of Shannon, and an extra special detail – Shannon had her grandmother’s pearls wrapped around the stem of her bouquet to carry her with her throughout her wedding day.
Shannon – I know she was smiling down at you from Heaven watching you the whole day and was SO proud of you!

It was such a pleasure being a part of Shannon + Ryan’s day; tears and raindrops may have fallen, but at the end of the day, they became husband and wife and celebrated with their dearest friends and family members, and it was such a beautiful and perfect day!

In addition to photographing a rainy wedding, I just HAD to capture my beautiful sister-in-law’s engagement ring with some amazing succulents in my in-laws’ front yard. Why? Because succulents are amazing, and they photograph beautifully…AND…well I love me some ring shots!

The only-happens-once-in-a-red-moon eclipse happened late last night, and unfortunately with it being so cloudy here in Northern Virginia, I did not capture the blood moon. I did however get some shots as the eclipse was happening.
Note to self….buy a 700mm lens for the next one in oh…18 years, I believe! 😉

Hope everyone had an amazing weekend and that your week is off to a great start!
