When I am in the midst of busy season, I like to blog some throwback shoots. This was my very first styled wedding shoot, and I shot this in April of 2014, about a month or so before I brought little miss Aislynn into the world! Even in Norfolk, VA in the Spring, it was a FREEZING cold and windy day. Thankfully my friend Whitney, who modeled for me, was such a trooper – she rocked it out for me and made such a beautiful bride!
I wanted to put a nautical shoot together because I lived in Norfolk at the time, but I knew I had to be careful to not border on the line of “cheesy” nautical, so there are little hints of anchors, but I really just wanted it to be something light, airy, and timeless. I think the marina served as the absolute perfect location, and I made sure to sprinkle some of my favorite rustic things throughout the set-up like pink lemonade in mason jars, a cute and dainty DIY cake topper, and a distressed table that was actually a door before! I had the pleasure of working with so many amazing creative professionals on this shoot, and I could not have put together this nautical inspiration shoot without them, and I am pleased to share that Trendy Bride also featured us over on their blog!
