Northern Virginia Maternity Photo Session in the Snow with Megan

I remember  back when Megan and I had been talking about her maternity photo session while she was pregnant with her daughter, Paige, and all I could think about was how fun it would be to take her photos in the snow!

It was about this time last year. We emailed back and forth and watched the weather forecasts as carefully as possible. We waited and waited for the perfect winter storm to begin so that we could meet in Northern Virginia for Megan’s maternity session! A few days before this session, we were talking with each other about how there was some snow possible for the weekend, and we continued to hit refresh on our Weather.com apps to see if anything was changing. We were actually SO excited for the snow! We were ready for it, and I just knew that it would be fun to photograph Megan’s beautiful baby bump with gorgeous snowflakes falling all around her!

The morning of her session, we met at Algonkian Regional Park in Sterling, VA, and the snow was really starting to come down and stick to the ground, and the trees, and the cars. This was the fastest maternity session I have ever had (I’m talking 10 minutes, tops! HAHA!), but it was so much fun! Megan was such a trooper in the chilly temps, and I remember just praying that my camera equipment was going to be okay!

Megan’s pink top and her gorgeous chocolate brown hair just popped perfectly against the wintery white background, and she is just absolutely stunning! I will always love this snowy session and her beautiful baby bump that I had the privilege of documenting!

With Winter Storm Jonas fast approaching, make sure you and your loved ones are somewhere safe and warm from the snow, and I hope y’all have fun making snow angels later! Have a great weekend!
