Virginia Beach Mommy and Me Lifestyle Session at The Studio – Hampton Roads

This natural-light studio, mommy and me session with Ellington and Sarah has to be one of my absolute favorite sessions I have shot. Not only is Baby E the cutest little thing and Sarah is such a beautiful mommy, but their story and how got to this point is one that pulls on your heart strings, and I’m even tearing up as I write this because I remember how hard it was for the two of them to experience what they had in order to get to where they are today. Sarah’s husband, Tommy, and I used to work together in the Hampton Roads, VA area when I was still in the Navy. I heard of his and Sarah’s struggles to conceive a child and sort of followed along with their story that included incredibly difficult details regarding adoption, as well.

When I heard of Tommy and Sarah adopting Ellington, I couldn’t handle the amount of joy I felt and I cried for them. I cried the happiest of tears because these two are the most deserving people I have ever met, and they tried for so long to bring a child into the world, and God placed Ellington into their lives at just the right time.
Ellington is by far the luckiest little girl ever because she was adopted by T and S and she is SO loved by them and their families! I really wanted to shoot this session for Sarah and E because, to me, there is nothing more beautiful that a love between a mother and her child. Ellington is older now as I did this session in April of 2014; she’s walking, talking, bouncing around, and it’s been such a pleasure to watch Tommy and Sarah grow with her! They are such a sweet family! <3
